Hmm. . .My thoughts on Indian Ringnecks (IRN) as pets.
They're not snuggly, cuddly - even a very tame one might allow you to only scritch its head.  But a well raised IRN is easy to handle and they love to hang out with you. They are very loving and interactive, they just don't like you wiping your hands all over them as humans seem to like to do to animals.
They're independent, meaning they don't necessarily want to be velcroed to your body.  That's not to say they're not great pets - I think they are.  A well raised IRN pretty much will go to, and get along with, most people.  Independent does not mean they're not affectionate.  They are affectionate, they just don't want you to rub your hands all over them.
They talk and mimic other sounds pretty well.
In a nut shell, I'd describe them as low maintenance as far birds go.

**If you want a pet IRN, don't think of getting an untame or skittish one and think you're going to tame it down.  IRNs don't tend to tame down.   Exception - a young, adolescent one going through "bluffing" phase.

  1. Way too cute! I just got my first IRN 2 weeks ago. He's a grey lacewing but now seems to have developed a blue spot on his chest. Hmmm. Maybe he is part dalmatian?? :)
